Description

A male penguin has to rely on body fat for four months, that's how long it takes from finding the perfect mate till that egg will hatch. First time parents rarely succeed in transferring the egg from one future parent to the other without damaging it. Ensuring that the egg will hatch is left into the care of the male penguin.

Once the chick has hatched, penguins spend months taking turns, fishing and returning to their chick, traveling hundreds of kilometers in search of krill, fish and squid. A successful partnership in which each parent returns to the exact colony where their chick awaits them and spends hours searching for it.

Our ability to observe and copy successful strategies that we see in others is one of our greatest strengths and it enables us to succeed so often. What lessons could we learn from a colony of penguins?
